29 weeks :)

How your baby's growing:

Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

Size of Baby: 2.5-3 pounds

Total Weight Loss/Gain: -17 pounds

Maternity Clothes: maternity jeans and trying to find cute tops to wear so I actually look pregnant and not just large :-P

Gender: GIRL! Vivienne Claire Hall.

Movement: She's getting predictable and definitely settling into her own schedule.  She's really active around 8-11 in the morning, then chills out til about 3 in the afternoon until 5 or so at night and then without fail has a riverdance style dance party as I lay down to sleep.  Must be like 80s night in there for her lol! :P

Sleep: There never seems to be enough but it is better and more consistent lately.  Learning how to nap when I can which has been the biggest help.

What I miss: Laying on my stomach. Coffee. Ibuprofin.

What I'm looking forward to: Enjoying the rest of this pregnancy as much as possible... baby gear collecting... getting her room ready to go... my baby shower... holding her in my arms when all is said and done.

Cravings: the usual, cheese, yellow tomatoes, melon.  Add in lettuce wraps and gummy worms and there ya go.

Symptoms: general soreness and tiredness and still battling some morning sickness.

28 weeks :)

Are you dreaming about your baby? At 28 weeks pregnant, your baby may be dreaming about you, too. Brain wave activity measured in a developing fetus shows different sleep cycles, including the rapid eye movement phase, the stage when dreaming occurs.

By now, your baby, who weighs in at about two and a half pounds and stands — or rather lies — at almost 16 inches (measured head to toe) has added blinking to his or her growing bag of tricks. (Outside in the real world, blinking is necessary to help keep foreign objects out of the eyes.) Other impressive new talents being added to your baby's roster in the womb include coughing, more intense sucking, and, perhaps most important, better breathing. Of course, it's still best if a baby doesn't check out of that uterine hotel just yet — there's still a lot of growing and maturing to do over the next 12 weeks.

Size of Baby: About 16 inches long and 2 1/2 pounds, though I think Vivienne might be bigger because the doctor says that I am measuring further along than I actually am.

Total Weight Loss/Gain: -17 pounds

Wow!  I made it to the third trimester all ready!  It's hard to believe that it's already here, especially when back in March and April, everything felt so far away!  But here we are and doing well. :)  I had my monthly doctor appointment today and it went well.  I got the results back from my glucose test and everything was normal- good even!  I had to get my Rhogam shot for my RH- bloodtype which wasn't fun, but is necessary and then we were told that we'll be having another ultrasound because the doctor says that I am measuring further along than I actually am.  This doesn't surprise me, as I was 9lbs 9oz when I was born and Roslyn was 8lbs 14oz.  We are definitely looking for to another glimpse of Vivienne... after only have the 2 ultrasounds with Roslyn, the 4 we're having this go around feel like a ton!

I've also been bit again a bit by the crafty bug this week... been working my way through a list of projects and feeling accomplished.  I made this after being inspired by a pin I saw on Pinterest...

Well... I think that that will do it for this week... hope its been a great week for everyone and that it will get even better! <3

27 weeks :)

the three of us girls :)

Most babies this age, yours included, still like to snuggle in a slightly curled position inside the uterus (thus the term "fetal position"). Even so, beginning at this stage, your baby's length will be measured from top of head to toe — which makes your baby nearly a full 15 inches now. And at just over two pounds, he or she has doubled in weight from four weeks ago.   Your baby's auditory development (hearing) is progressing as the network of nerves to the ears matures. And even though the sounds your baby hears are muffled (thanks to the creamy coating of vernix covering those ears), he or she may recognize both yours and your partner's voices.  So this might be a good time to read and even sing to your baby (or rather, your belly) — and a good chance to start boning up on those nursery rhymes and lullabies you'll need to be repeating (and repeating) pretty soon. And while you're at it, here's another way to have some family fun at 27 weeks pregnant: If your partner presses his ear to your belly, he might be able to hear the baby's heartbeat.   Your baby's taste buds are very developed now too (with more taste buds than he or she will ever have outside the womb, actually). Need a taste test? If you eat some spicy food (you hot mama, you), your baby will be able to taste the difference in the amniotic fluid (but keep in mind that you'll have different mealtimes, with your baby's coming about two hours after yours). Some babies will even respond to that spicy kick by hiccupping. And although hiccups (which feel like belly spasms to you) may seem like they're disturbing to your baby, he or she isn't stressed at all. It's just one more sensation that babies need to get used to.
Size of Baby: Approximately 15" head to toe and just over 2 pounds
Total Weight Loss/Gain: -17 lbs.
Maternity Clothes: Maternity jeans and whatever shirts look cute.Gender:  Girl! Vivienne Claire. <3
Movement: Lots of it!  The night before last Drew got to feel her hello kicks. <3
Sleep: I wake up a lot at night, but with Roslyn back in school, I have the opportunity to nap so it's been better.
What I Miss: Laying on my stomach! Ibuprofin for headaches.
What I'm Looking Forward to: Enjoying the rest of this pregnancy as much as possible... baby gear collecting... getting her room ready... my baby shower... holding in my arms when all is said and done.Cravings: yellow tomatoes. Symptoms: General soreness and tiredness and still battling some morning sickness.

This week, while fairly typical, has felt big!  Drew was able to feel Vivienne kick while his hand was resting on my stomach.  Which is so special because it's another way for him to experience this part of everything.  The guys get so little of this part of the journey so it's nice for him to experience her movement lately.

Roslyn has also been talking to and giving kisses to her sister Vivi (Roslyn's chosen name for her) daily.  She loves to tell her that she will play with her and read to her often and that she loves her.  It's simply too too sweet!

Still need to get my gestational diabetes test done tomorrow... YUCK!  But beyond that- I cant believe that this is the last week of my 2nd trimester- it's flying by so fast!!!

Have a great week! :)

26 weeks :)

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

Size of Baby: Close to two pounds, and a bit over a foot long!
Total Weight Loss/Gain: -17 lbs.
Maternity Clothes: Maternity jeans and whatever shirts look cute.
Gender:  Girl! Vivienne Claire. <3
Movement: Lots of it!  Starting to occasionally feel her move when my hand is resting on my stomach.
Sleep: I wake up a lot at night, but with Roslyn back in school, I have the opportunity to nap so it's been better.
What I Miss: Laying on my stomach! Ibuprofin for headaches.
What I'm Looking Forward to: Enjoying the rest of this pregnancy as much as possible... baby gear collecting... getting her room ready... my baby shower... holding in my arms when all is said and done.

It's bee a busy and great week for us... we've been keeping busy with Roslyn in school for the 2nd week as our big first grade girl, playdates, birthday parties and more.  Our schedules have been full and very, very fun indeed.

On the Vivienne front, we've been trucking along... collecting some cute baby things and thinking about our birthplan and other issues relating to birth, new baby, etc.  I like to be prepared so I am trying to get as much squared away as possible as soon as possible.  I go in for my gestational diabetes test this week... so here's to hoping for good results in that!

Hope everyone has had a great week! :)

25 weeks :)

(Sorry that this is yet again late.  I have been trying to post it since Tuesday night, but the formatting has been crazy everytime I do and I basically rage quit posting to my blog until I had time to rewrite and repost.)

Your baby is growing by leaps and bounds, reaching at least 9 inches in length and passing the pound and a half mark.  Under his skin, capillaries are forming and filling the blood and by weeks end, air sacs (also lines with capillaries) will develop in his lungs, getting them ready for that first breath. Mind you, those lungs aren't ready for prime time just yet- but they are developing surfactant, a substance that will help them expand after birth.  And speaking of breathing, your baby's tiny nostrils, which have been plugged up until now, are starting to open, and his vocal chords are getting ready to roar.

Size of Baby: at least 1 and half pounds or so

Total Weight Loss/Gain: -17 pounds

Maternity Clothes: maternity jeans and whatever tops I find that look cute whether they are technically maternity or not.  I think we have one store here in town that actually carries maternity clothing, so I don't buy much of it!

Gender: GIRL!  Vivienne Claire Hall :)

Movement:  Lots of it!  She seems to love to kick rapidly while I eat and right before I eat or go to bed... right  behind my belly button!

Sleep: Thankfully its gotten better!

What I Miss:  Laying on my back and stomach

What I'm looking forward to:  Enjoying the rest of this pregnancy as much as possible... baby gear collecting... getting her room ready... my baby shower... holding in my arms when all is said and done.

Cravings: Basically anything with protein in it.

Symptoms: General soreness and tiredness and still battling some morning sickness.

This week has seen more and more of Vivienne rolling, kicking and bumping around and I am starting to be less weirded out by it and enjoy it more.  We've picked up a few pieces of baby clothes here and there and it's been fun to be on the lookout for and collect some things we love for her.

It's my birthday weekend this weekend (my birthday is on friday) and we'll be heading down to Phoenix on Sunday where I will be stopping by Babies 'R' Us for some things that I want for Vivienne and to see the bedding we've picked out in person before we commit 100% to it.

Hope everyone is having an amazing week!:)
